Elizabeth (Liz), Marie Engelbert, Born April 1, 1963 in Big Spring TX, passed away on May 31, 2019, Las Vegas, NV. She was 56. Elizabeth moved to Santa Maria in 1966. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Santa Maria High School and graduated in 1981. She also attended Allan Hancock College and Santa Barbara Business College. Elizabeth was very active in 4-H, and she was awarded the Diamond Star, 4-H’s highest honor in 1980. She loved to travel and enjoyed many International trips. Some of her favorite destinations included England, Russia, New Zealand and Australia. Elizabeth was a skilled cook and she particularly excelled at barbecuing. Santa Maria style barbecue was her specialty and many of her family and friends would attest that she was the best in the family. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She had a love for muscle cars and her 66’ Mustang was her pride and joy. Elizabeth worked in the hotel industry and later in law. She was preceded in death by her mother, Noreen Engelbert and her father, Wayne Engelbert. Her aunt Hope Hampton and uncle Ray Hampton. Survived by brothers Wayne, Frank (Brette), and John (Mandie), Aunts Rita (Bryan) Byrd of Bolton England and Joan (Arthur) Stewart of Darlington England, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services for Elizabeth will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 10:00AM at Reis Family Mortuary 991 Nipomo St. San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Interment will follow at San Luis Cemetery 2890 S. Higuera St. San Luis Obispo, CA.
