He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pennington and Emmaline Pennington; his son Jason Knox; his sister Mary Emma Pennington; and his grandson Bo Pennington.
He is survived by: his spouse Dana Pennington (Carol Ann Ewing); his children, Cae Swanger (Brad), John Samuel Pennington, Jr. (Jane), Johnna Pereyda (Frank) and Julie Woodward (Montana Williams); and his grandchildren, John Stephen Pennington (Kayla), Brittany Perez (Emilo), Brett Williams, Kelsey Woodward, Bridger Pennington (Lauren), Dana Hernandez (Matthew) and Olivia Pereyda. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Palm Northwest Mortuary (6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131).
He was bestowed the distinguished honor of the Imperial Potentate's Award of Merit in 2019 for his life-long outstanding achievements and selfless contributions to Shriner's International and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
