She was predeceased by: her husband Sherman Thurston; her parents, John Cain and Edith Hegarty; and her sister Elizabeth Engen. She is survived by: her sister Patsy of Iowa City; her cousin Sharon Fall of Stanwood; her nieces and nephews, Georgann, Crystal, Susan, Mark, Aaron and Travis; and her cousin Frank.
