Ray Raught wrote a sympathy message

“To the family of Reggie Simon I am so sad to just find about Reggies passing. I met Duke on the first day of junior high and our friendship never ended. Duke was always so kind and several times we passed lunch money back and forth when one was without. I last saw him at the airport when I left Alaska after high school. I know he is in the hands of God and bringing his kindness to his loved ones in heaven. RIP Duke you are a great person. Ray Raught”
