He was predeceased by : his parents, Anthony Chesnut and Hazel DeLeeuw; and his grandson Dylan. He is survived by : his wife Carol Chesnut; his children, Jeff Chesnut (Tiffany), Chad Chesnut (Valerie) and Shanna Daniels; his grandchildren, Taylor (Tyler), Aspen, Zuzu (Kyle), Alexis (Casey), Echo, Madi, Brayden, Rhomio, Promis and Da'mon; his sister Edna Sherwood (Steve); and his brother-in-law Gene Nielsen (Grace). He is also survived by his twelve great-grandchildren.
