He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Meintzer and Dorothy Kyle Meintzer; and his sisters, Moira and Maureen. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Christopher Dobbins, Joanne, Sean O'Toole and Karen O'Toole Muhlethaler; and his grandchildren, Max Muhlethaler and Kamryn Muhlethaler.

His enthusiasm for wild sheep and their conservation also led to his active involvement with the Wild Sheep Foundation.
