He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Silver John Carano and Albina Ferrari Carano; his parents, Ralph Athan Herring and Kathleen Carano Herring; his uncle John Carano; and his aunts, Vickie Carano and Marie Carano.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Herring; his children, Kevin Herring, Christina Rahimzadeh (Nariman) and Kimberly Kimmel (Michael); his siblings, Judy Albright (Dean), Kathy Hall (Tom) and Greg Herring (Janet); and his grandchildren, Tyler Rahimzadeh, Kiely Rahimzadeh, Logan Athan Kimmel, Connor Kimmel and McKenna Kimmel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
