She is survived by: her husband Gregory M. Gazda; her children, Laurie, Victoria (Andrew Anderson) and Gilbert Gazda; and her grandchildren, Armand Gazda, Sydney Gazda and Sophia Gazda-Anderson.

“What a deeply sad moment this is. Velma was a kind and friendly person who had a sincere love for people. Her religious devotion to the Catholic church was sincere and fervent. I remember her stories of the Pilgrimage she made to the Holy Land. She was fun to be with whenever Kathi and I would visit her and Greg...what a gracious hostess she was! She made us feel like family. I wish she was still among us. Kathi and I will miss her. Our prayers to Greg and family for strength and peace”
