He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel K. Johnstone and Mary Peraldo Johnstone; his wife Fran; his grandparents, Guglielmo, Claudina Peraldo, Walter and Minnie Johnstone; his siblings, Sammye Ugalde and Tom Johnstone; and his nephew Robert Ugalde.
He is survived by: his sister Ann Johnstone; his children, Leo Leighton, Tauna Burhans (Jon) and Sam Johnstone; his grandchildren, Cassi Whitney (James), Annie Johnson (Randall) and Ben Burhans (Bailey); his great grandchildren, Maryan, Fatuma, Roscoe, Bentleigh, Florence, Isola, Brylee, Fitz and Simone; his niece Eddyann Filippini; and his nephews, John and Frank Ugalde. He is also survived by his family and friends.
