He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Axtell and Eloise Axtell (Smith); and his brothers, Terry Axtell and Dickie Axtell. He is survived by: his wife Elsie Axtell; his children, Larry Axtell, Debbie Axtell, Hope, Joe Trappler (Kimberly Clark) of Addison, JD, June Bradshaw (Rodney Camp) and Dustin Cox (Melissa) of Corning; and his grandchildren, Josh, Brittany, Cody, Tiffany, Zoey, Bella, Mariah, Tyler, Austin, Alexa, Daxon, Westin, Larry, Matt and Courtney. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Addison Eagles Club (7724 NY-417, Addison, NY 14801).
