She was predeceased by: her parents, Alpheus Lanphere and Grace Lanphere; and her son Tom Akin (Dorothy Lee). She is survived by: her husband Jim Akin; her children, Jim Akin (Lynne), Anne Sowinski (John) and Bob Akin (Denise); her grandchildren, Ashley (Joseph), Kailey (David), Abbey, Peter (Sarah), Alicia, Erin (Kyle), Christine (Andrew), Katlynn, Amanda, Sean (Katie), Jason Carrie (Autumn), Ryan, Zac, Will and Cole; and her siblings, Edward Lanphere (Sylvia), Suzanne McKenry (David) and Mary Jane Mosier (Harry). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Kathleen's memory to Akron First United Methodist Church.
