It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Abram J. Gray (Akwesasne, New York), who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonas Gray and Mary Gray (Cooke); his wife Gertrude Adams; his children, Abram L. Gray, Jr. and Lori Gray; his granddaughter Ashley Ann Gray; his daughter-in-law Mary Gray; and his siblings, George Gray, Ruth Dora and Margaret Cullen.
He is survived by: his children, Leona Francis (Phillip Gray), Mike Gray (Norman Gray) and Lisa Gray (Virginia "Ginger" Gray) of Akwesasne; his grandchildren, Jared, Jay, Sunnie, Phil Jr., Michael Jr., Kyla, Morgan, Kyle, Norman Jr., Sea, Jason, Stacy, Jonas, Valerie, Tia, Mindy, Tina, Jack, Brandy and Anthony; his siblings, Dorothy Shatlaw, Marie Seymour (Robert), Louie and Edward Gray; and his son Phillip. He is also survived by 38 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at 440 St Regis Rd, Hogansburg, NY 13655. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Regis Catholic Church (107 Angus Thomas Memorial Road, Akwesasne, QC H0M1A0).
