Kenneth J. Thompson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 17, 2025, at the age of 90, Kenneth J. Thompson of Akwesasne, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Ransom Thompson and Mitchell Thompson; and his siblings, Vincent, Douglas Thompson, Roger, Lavinia and Gary Gray.
He is survived by: his children, Vincent Barney of Green Island, Sandra Thompson of New Hampshire and Andrea Thompson (Curtis) of Akwesasne; his granddaughters, Madeleine Farkas of New Hampshire, Kaiya and Nikahehtah; his children, Sherman of Akwesasne, Shirelle of Akwesasne and Steven Jacobs of Akwesasne; and his siblings, Harvey Thompson of Onondaga, Lloyde, Yvonne and Patty.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home (100 N Main St, Massena, NY 13662). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mohawk Nation Longhouse (211 NY-37, Akwesasne, NY 13655). A burial was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mohawk language programs or the Freedom School.
