He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Knox and Jane Knox (Grube). He is survived by: his wife Rose (Montanino); his daughter Ashley Schaible (Eric); and his grandson Bodie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes donations to establish a bench in Dean's honor on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, in lieu of flowers.
