He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kirk and Rose Huberty Kirk; his wife Katherine Rose Simon; his daughter Kathie Kirk Patrizio; his grandson Jonathan D. Kirk; and his siblings, Jack and Mary O'Brien.
He is survived by: his children, Donald J. Kirk, Jr. and Joanne Buckley (Michael); his grandchildren, Melissa MacLaughlin (Thomas), Katie Bender (Patrick), Kristin Mathews (Scott), Sara Buckley (John) and Chad Buckley; his great grandchildren, Thomas, Kate, Olivia MacLaughlin, Anna and Ryan Bender; his stepgreat-granddaughter Raina Mathews; and his brother-in-law Nunzio Hughes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
