He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. and Mary Choppa Sr. (Criscone); his wife Doris Choppa (Olander); and his siblings, Angie Glinski, Ann Choppa and Joseph Choppa.

He is survived by: his children, Glenn Choppa and Janet Schoen (Neal); his grandchildren, Michael Choppa (Kristine), Christy Choppa and Kyle Schoen; his great grandchildren, Bella, Ronan, Carter and Madeline; and his brother Lawrence Cioppa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
