He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Garland and Helen Garland (Commons); and his siblings, Loretta Scott, Jane Talmadge, MaryEllen Cefferillo and Earl Garland.
He is survived by: his wife Joan M. Garland; his children, Art Garland, Patricia (James Marzinsky) and Michael Garland; his brother Richard Garland; his grandchildren, Amber (Dale Trojan), Alyssa (John Bennett), Josh (Ashlee Garland) and Devon LeClair; and his great grandchildren, Kaiden Fifield, Henry and Alice Trojan.
