He was predeceased by: his siblings, Terry Copeland and Marguerite "Peggy" Britting; his aunt Marian; and his uncle John Quirk. He is survived by: his children, William H. Copeland Jr (Lisa), Dr. Terese Copeland of Wilton and Cynthia Sturges (Douglas) of Saugerties; his grandchildren, Christopher, David Copeland, Kayla Sturges Smith and Matthew Sturges; and his sister Marian Choppy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
