He was loved and cherished by many people including : his uncle Jimmy (James Martin O'Brien); his wife Sandy; his daughter Kim; his former life partner Kirk Narburgh; his children, Sarah Burrows (Corey) of Boston, Doctor Hannah Dunay (Mitch) of Hampstead, Mark of Tampa, Florida., Finn James and Buckley; his siblings, David O'Brien of Ripley and Catherine O'Brien; his uncles, Kerm and Jerry (James "The Irishman"); his aunt Maryellen (Rose); and his mother Sandy. He was also cherished by two children and four grandchildren and have a great grandchild.
