He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Downey (Hildreth); and his mothers-in-law, Ethel Alvut and Cathy Dewey Alvut. He is survived by: his father Everett "Frenchy" Downey; his wife Tina; his siblings, Cindy Troy (Michael) and Bill Downey (Anne); and his sisters-in-law, Mary Dewey, Penny Kavanagh (Sean), Dawn Dewey, Charlene Schicker (Michael) and Mariah Boyko (Dennis). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
