He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Slate and Montessum Gouge Slate; and his brothers, Mark and John Slate. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Franklin; his niece Gabrielle Livingston (Charles) of Dexter, NY; his nephew John F. Slate (Allyson Thomas); and his sister-in-law Lisa Slate.
