She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Groves and Lucille Groves; her daughter Heather Nickens; her siblings, Eunice Barber, Rev. Russell Groves and Naomi Solomon; and her siblings' children, Odis Lee Barber, Jr., Michael Barber, Lynn Green and Tamika Russell.
She is survived by: her husband Emmanuel LaVenture of Friendship; her siblings' children, Quincy Groves of Wellsville, Curtis Groves of Friendship and Lindsey Mwene (Jean Paul) of Rochester; her granddaughter Ellise Mwene of Rochester; and her siblings, Joseph Groves (Sandy) of Friendship, Pierre Jean Baptiste of Brooklyn, Arnold LaVenture of Brooklyn and Dr. Marie Josee Celestin (Kesner) of Dacula, GA..
Viewing was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Treusdell Funeral Home (50 E Main St, Friendship, NY 14739). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Friendship Church of God in Christ (77 W Main St, Friendship, NY 14739).
