He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, James Ackerman and Rose Ray Ackerman; his siblings, Rosemary Reale of Syracuse, Joan Johnson (Ron) of Brewerton, James Ackerman (Denise) of Altmar and Judy Ann Grant (Donald) of Mannsville; and his nieces and nephews, David, Christine, Deb, Dan, Erin, Kimmie, Amy, Michelle, Matt, Mike and Christopher.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 31st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pine Meadows Church (386 Pine Meadow Rd, Altmar, NY 13302). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church (386 Pine Meadow Rd, Altmar, NY 13302). A reception was held on Friday, May 31st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
