He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Bornt and Jean F. Bornt (Nadler). He is survived by: his children, David R. Bornt, Jonathan J. Bornt and Erika Chapin (Dan); and his grandchildren, Briana, Julian and Roslyn. He is also survived by friends and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department.
