She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Szuplat and Anastasia Szuplat (Humeniuk). She is survived by: her significant other Joseph P. Germaine; her sisters, Stach Szuplat (Peggy) of Falmouth, Anna Firth (Rick) of Greenville and Ola Szuplat Wiese (Dana Wiese) of Clarkesville, Georgia.; her nieces and nephews, Terry Szuplat (Mary), Erica Szuplat Allsup (Ben Allsup), Katherine Szuplat and Shannon Firth (Christy Vaughn); her stepdaughter Joelle Hilton (Nathan) of Forest, Virginia; her grandchildren, Cassidy McEachon (Joseph), Claudia, Addison Hilton, Sophia and Jacob Germaine; and her great grandchildren, Isabella and Ava McEachon.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home Inc. (2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY 12189). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home (2013 Broadway, Watervliet, NY 12189).
Friends are invited to attend and may visit with Genia's family at the funeral home on Thursday, prior to the service, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Those wishing to remember Genia in a special way may make a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
