We announce the death of Harry L. Ballard Jr. (Amsterdam, New York), who passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Harry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry L. Ballard, and Nery Nolla Ballard, Sr.; and his wife Patricia. He is survived by: his children, Harry (Jamie), Miguel (Abbey), Eric, Wayne (Laurie) and Amy (Randy); and his siblings, José Domingo, Sheila Nery, Beverley Beatrice and Magda Eva Elisse. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home (171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208, to support veterans throughout the region.
