We announce the death of James S. Douglass (Amsterdam, New York), who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 98. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Douglass and Laura Douglass; his wife Lucille Berger; and his son Jimmy. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Blender, Gary Douglass (Sandy), Michael Douglass (Ava), Susan Weber (John), Mark Douglass (Roxanne), John Douglass (Marsha), Christopher Douglass (Lynn), Pamela Hulbert (Jim) and Patrick Douglass (Mary). He is also survived by his 24 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home (171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
