He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Schmah and Elizabeth Schmah (Hildabrant); his wife Bettina Schmaeh (Clairmont); and his brother Albert Schmah. He is survived by: his children, Karl Schmaeh, Jr. (Nancy), Peter Schmaeh (Mary), Elizabeth Gannon (Lester) and Karen Schwabrow (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Bethany, Chad, Teanna, Kyle, Emily, Andrew, Josh, Sam and Julia; his sister-in-law Renate Schmaeh; and his sibling's children, Peter Schmah and Alexandra. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
