Robert L. Thompson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert L. Thompson of Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Robert find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Thompson and Shirley Thompson (Porath). He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Scorse; his children, Michael Thompson (Alanna Mecca), Jordan Elizabeth Thompson and Kelsey Thompson; his devoted chocolate lab Jax; and his sister Kim Gray (George "Joe"). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home (200 Church St, Amsterdam, NY 12010). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church (50-52 Cornell St, Amsterdam, NY 12010).
