He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Schoemann (Butler); his child Thomas Schoemann (Terri); and his siblings, Beatrice Bonczar (late William), Patricia Kolek, Robert, Joseph and Donald Schoemann.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Garcia (Richard), Susan Herold (William), Dianne Smith, Theresa Flis (Richard) and Christine Mascio (Carl); his grandchildren, Robert, Lauren, Lindsey, Andrea, Sean, Colton, Mathew, Jaclyn, Zaccary, R. Evan, Ryann of Carl, Samantha and Jacob; and his great grandchildren, Bryson, Mallory, William, Stella, Millie and Brooks. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
