Nancy Jean Hazard (Ross)
Nancy Jean Hazard (Ross) of Lake View, NY, passed away on December 1, 2021 at the age of 75. She was born in Hornell, NY to Joseph and Mary Ross. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol Ross (Jim) and Fred Ross (Carolann). She's the beloved sister to Joseph Ross, Jr. Nancy was the cherished wife and second half to Richard L. Hazard, Sr., mother to Richard L. Hazard, Jr. (Sharon), Mark (Chrissy), Donald, Bonnie, Michael and Peter Ross (Elizabeth). She leaves behind grandchildren, Christian, twins Corey and Brandon, Kayla, Alanna and Sierra, Rebecca and Jason plus great grandchildren, Nora Jean and Malickai. Nancy was the cook/owner for years of Nancy's Restaurant in Derby, NY, where you could find a cast of regulars being greeted by a huge smile and a hot cup of coffee. After leaving the restaurant business, Nancy was an Admissions Clerk at Roswell Cancer Institute where she expressed love and concern to folks coming into the hospital at the worst moments of their lives. Nancy was a regular at Uncle Joe's and The Corner Store. Nancy loved to feed people especially at the annual Christmas Eve gathering of the Hazard's. She always prepared too much food but loved hanging out in the kitchen and watching her guests enjoy Shrimp cocktail and overcooked Beef on Weck. Nancy was only 4' 11" but was a giant in the neighborhood and especially loved getting and giving hugs. She was the glue that held this family together. Family will be present to receive friends Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 5 - 7 PM at the Addison Funeral Home Inc. 262 N. Main St. Angola, NY where prayer services will follow at 7 PM. Nancy was not a fan of plants, so in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Lake View Fire Association, who assisted with her care in the final days of her life.
