He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Rudler; his children, Lori Swackhammer, Jeff, Maryjo Rudler, Michael Rudler and Giovanna Vidoli; his grandchildren, Britney Rudler, Houcine Belhai, Allie Rudler, Joe Ankrom, Peri Swackhammer, John Swackhammer, Matilda Vidoli-Rudler and Julian Vidoli-Rudler; his great grandchildren, Acacia, Liberty, Lael and Ilyas; his nephews, Douglas Rudler and Donald Rudler; and his cousins, Scott Sinnet and Glen Hurlburt.

“I served as a boy scout den leader when Robert was a cub scout in the early 1950's. in Binghamton. His mother, Marian was the den mother. We enjoyed many camping trips in upstate New York and Bar Harbor. I was always impressed with his leadership and personal qualities. He was a good man.”
