He is survived by: his wife Betsy McWhorter; his grandson Kristopher Abrahamson; his great grandchildren, Jayden and Eloise; and his siblings, Dr. Earl McWhorter, Donald McWhorter, John McWhorter, Paul McWhorter and Dorothy Sherman (Gary). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
