He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard A. Nies, Sr. and Doris M. Holman Nies; his grandson Chance Harper; and his brother Rick Nies. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Singer Nies; his daughters, Amanda Harper and Kristina Paul (James); his grandchildren, Chelsea Paul, Jarred Paul and Payton Harper; and his siblings, Lawrence Nies, Patricia Nies and Kathy Papalia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
