He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Saxton and Grace Saxton Stow; his adoptive mother Mary Carr Saxton; his siblings, John Stow, Margaret Ryan, Charlotte Grover and Matthew Stow; and his cousin Jim Smith.
He is survived by: his grandson Matt Welch; his children, James Saxton (Peggy) of Ashville and Sheila Saxton (Michael) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Matthew Welch (Haley), Brionna Swanson, Kyle Saxton (Chelsea), Skylar Saxton and Cameron Saxton; his great grandchildren, Owen, Kinsley, Tessa, Callie Welch, Oakley Rose Saxton and Oliver Eugene Saxton; his siblings, Ronda Hatfield, Michael, Frank and Mark Stow; and his cousins, Elaine Draves of Oklahoma and Bonnie Singley of Arizona.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Ashville Volunteer Fire Department.
