He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo LaVarnway and Elizabeth Colligan LaVarnway; his wife Patrice; and his brothers, Michael LaVarnway and Richard LaVarnway.
He is survived by: his children, Carey LaVarnway and Kara Sopata (Chuck); his girlfriend Marilyn Baran; and his granddaughter Nora Sopata.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the White Chapel Funeral Home (197 South St, Auburn, NY 13021). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (17 Clark St, Auburn, NY 13021).
