Simon Johannes Schavemaker Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on October 6, 2022, Simon Johannes Schavemaker of Auburn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Johannes and Anna Emma Lehman Schavemaker; his wife Bertha Lawton Schavemaker; his former wife Linda Schavemaker; his sister Ann Brong; his brother-in-law Sterling Brong, Sr.; and his nephew Leroy Brong.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Poormon (Thomas) of Seneca Falls, N. Y., Susan Derr of Seneca Falls, N. Y., Joann Reasoner (James) of Phillipsburg, N. J. and John Schavemaker (Crystal) of Auburn, N. Y.; his stepchildren, Tammy Lawton, Louis Akins (Tracy), Amanda McLeod (John), Stanley Brewer (Elizabeth), Patrick Brewer and Danielle Westcott (Charles); his close friends, Maggie and Ginger; and his caregivers, Surgical Teams, Simon, Laura, Dr. Erny, Dr. Tamus, Michelle and Dr. Henderson. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and many nieces.
Simon was an honorary member of the Fayette Rural Cemetery, he loved to donate his time wherever help was needed.
