He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Dougherty and Marjorie Dougherty (Howell); his sister-in-law Jill; and his nephew Brian Farrelly. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Dougherty (Durnack); his sons, Sean and Christopher (Stephanie); his granddaughter Reagan; and his siblings, Betsy Farrelly (Kevin), Danny Dougherty (Diane), Mike Dougherty and Jimmy Dougherty (Judy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
