The memory of Lenny J. Kness of Averill Park, New York, who passed away on July 13, 2025 at the age of 60, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his sister-in-law Alison Ryan; his grandparents, Danny B., Vevah G. Kness, Harry and Marilyn Dittmar; his aunt Janice Kness; and his uncles, Richard D. Kness and Ward Dittmar.
He is survived by: his parents, Leslie J. Fagen (Dittmar) and Larry L. Kness; his daughters, Lily Anne and Ivy Jo; his wife Colonel Heather Kness; his stepmother Rose Kness; his brother Larry D. Kness; his sister-in-law Lori Kness; his parents-in-law, Philip and Pamela Ryan; his siblings-in-law, Erynn Petersen (Eric Picard), Courtney Williams, Sarah Hansen (David), Melissa Valente (Matthew), Philip Ryan (Stefanie), Brendan Ryan (Megan), Garrison Ryan (Rolyn) and Kevin Ryan (Julia); his uncle Danny R. Kness; his aunts, Beth Dittmar and Lori Troester (Larry); and his cousin Scott Kness. He is also survived by 30 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St Henry's Church (39 Old Rte 66, Averill Park, NY 12018). A burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 4 Cemetery Ln, Averill Park, NY 12018.
