Leon P. Petropol Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leon P. Petropol of Averill Park, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 5, 2026 at the age of 89. As Leon departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Leon may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Leon leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Leon and Nancy Petropol; and his wife Jeanne L. Petropol. He is survived by: his siblings, Ann M. Benson, Jack Petropol and Michael Petropol; his daughters, Lisa Anne Petropol (Matt Haner) and Jennifer Lee Austin (Jeff); his sister Nancy Ann Shrump; and his granddaughters, Rachel, Amanda and Ashley Haner. He is also survived by his daughters, Leon was not only a father, but a best friend.
