He was predeceased by: his parents, John Payne and Grace Payne (Haley); his former wife Grace "Anne" Payne; his brothers, Norman Payne and Nelson Payne (Marcia Grover); and his daughter Mildred Byron.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; and his sons, Richard Fox, Stephen Payne, Michael Payne and Donald Payne. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.
