He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles and Lillian. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Kathleen Brunn (Todd), Karen Lynch (Sean) and Kevin Schmidt (Teri); his grandchildren, Luke, Tommy Brunn, Sean Charles, Colin Lynch, Lucy and Elliott Schmidt; and his brothers, Kenneth, Louis and Matthew Schmidt.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home (448 W Main St, Babylon, NY 11702). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at 11:15 AM at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (39 N Carll Ave, Babylon, NY 11702).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Charles to the Babylon Fire Department Scholarship Committee, 153 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702, in honor of his legacy and commitment to the community.
