He was predeceased by: his father Anthony Abate; and his sister Maryann Johanning (Abate). He is survived by: his mother Silvia Abate (Buffone); his wife Donna Abate (Blair); his children, Nicole Matthews (Brian) and Sammy Abate (Nikesha); and his grandchildren, Jude and Lily Matthews. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
