She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Gilbert and Jane Gilbert (Poteralski); her husband Robert L. "Bob" Van Patten; and her siblings, Ronald Gilbert and Leona Pahl.
She is survived by: her children, Robert "Rob" Van Patten (Melinda) and Janine Van Patten (Joseph Fontenot); her grandchildren, Zachary Van Patten (Bonnie), Cody Van Patten (Jessica Carbone) and Crystal Bentley (Bruce); and her great grandchildren, Allie, Jack, Abigail, Elizabeth and Claira. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
