He was predeceased by : his parents, John F. O'Herron and MaryRose McGlynn O'Herron; and his siblings, Jeanne Esquivel (Frank), James and Paul O'Herron.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn O'Herron; his children, MaryJoan Kashapata (Ignatius), Michael J. O'Herron (Katherine), Daniel O'Herron, Anne O'Herron (Michael Covarrubias), Peter O'Herron (Elizabeth), David O'Herron (Jeanmarie Presutti) and Michelle O'Herron (Jerell Price); his stepchildren, Greg George, Eileen George, Susan VanHouten and Jonathan Wong; his grandchildren, Caitlin, Devin, Peter, Joseph, Maria, Joshua and Aaron; his great grandchild Ian; his brothers, Thomas O'Herron (Mary) and Raymund O'Herron (Sheila); and his sisters-in-law, Marybeth O'Herron and Rebecca O'Herron. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, John suggested that memorial donations in his memory be made to either Catholic Charities, EWTN (tv), the Catholic Relief Services or the St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon.
