He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Hoffee Ahrens and William J. Ahrens; his wife Monica; and his brother Billy. He is survived by: his children, David, Molly Hirschel (Seth), Gus (Andrea) and Bobby; and his grandchildren, Colin, Charlotte Hirschel, Mackenzie, Barrett and Crosby Ahrens.
In lieu of flowers, Robert's family asks that donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
