He was predeceased by: his parents, Armand La May Sr. and Elinor La May (Ranfone); and his brother Christopher La May. He is survived by: his daughters, Sarah La May (William Dowie) of Solvay and Abbey La May (Chris); and his siblings, Armand "Skip" La May, Jr. (Annette) of Fairport, Paul La May of Irondequoit, Joseph La May (Sherry) of Macedon, Yvonne Ireland (late John) of Greece, Ann Baleno of Stafford and Elinor Guess (Charles) of Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or Lollypop Farm.
