He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Mary; his children, Anne, Eileen Baumgaertner (Michael), Michele Cusack (James) and John Paul (Heather); and his grandchildren, Rebecca, Ryan, Connor, Liam, Sydney, Delaney, Kate, Nathan and Julia. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
