He was predeceased by: his parents, David Darling and Jean Darling; and his brothers, Dennis and Douglas Darling. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his daughters, Jennifer Wales (Michael) and Karen Monforte (Joseph); his grandchildren, Joshua, Erin, Sophia, Kenna and Joey; his siblings-in-law, Bobbie and Russ Krager; and his brothers, Skip Darling (Janet) and Dana Darling (Debbie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
