He was predeceased by: his parents, Orman Short and Pauline Short; and his brothers, Larry, Charles, Nelson and Paul Short.
He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Short (Betty); his children, Donna Bondi (Geoffrey), Steven Short (LaVawn), Karen Hill and Linda Ambrose (William); his grandchildren, Nicholas Carey (Amy), Cassondre Schmidt (Jeremy), Elizabeth Allen (Joshua), Andrew Short, Matthew Short, Christopher Hill, Martyn Hill, Alanna Hill, Arin Hill, Katelyn Bendinsky (Ryan), Jordan Ambrose (Madeline) and Justin Ambrose; his great grandchildren, William, Bryce, Rylee, Brandon, Lillian, Athena, Hayes, Jaxon and Hudson; and his sister-in-law Alma Short. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church or Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
